Welcome to DASL Softball

As the ONLY International Pride Softball (iPRIDE) affiliated softball league in Colorado, the Denver Area Softball League (DASL) is dedicated to the promotion of amateur softball for all persons regardless of age, race, creed, religion, sex, or national origin, with special emphasis placed on the participation of members of the gay/lesbian community of the Denver Area.

The league’s mission is to provide a competitive sports outlet that fosters connections among like-minded individuals while promoting health, fitness, and sportsmanship. Non-playing participants are welcomed as full members in good standing and receive the same benefits as playing members. Throughout the season, the league organizes fundraisers and concludes with an awards banquet to recognize individual and team achievements and to acknowledge our sponsors. We take pride in the league’s sustained growth and accomplishments, and we remain committed to serving the gay sports community in the Denver area for years to come.

The Denver Area Softball League, Inc. (DASL) was incorporated in Colorado in 1998. Its general membership comprises playing and non-playing members as well as team sponsors. DASL is governed by a seven-member Board elected by the general membership at the annual fall meeting. DASL is a member in good standing of International Pride Softball, the national governing organization for member cities in the U.S. and Canada. Member cities host various national invitational tournaments throughout the year, and International Pride Softball organizes the annual Gay Softball World Series each late summer, hosted by a different member city.

  • FINANCIAL

    • DASL is funded by membership dues, sponsorships, and fundraising revenues. These funds offset league expenses, including field rentals, umpire fees, general operating costs, awards, and trophies. The league also provides partial financial assistance to Denver teams that qualify for the Gay Softball World Series.

  • FUTURE COMMUNITY GOAL

    • As an active and responsible member of Denver’s LGBTQ+ community, DASL aims to donate a percentage of annual revenues to local charities. The Board will review needs and select recipient organizations at the start of each season. We take pride in giving back to the community we serve and look forward to making this a regular practice.
